We come to your home, workplace or roadside anywhere in Dublin. No need to drive to a garage — we bring the right AGM or EFB battery to you and fit it on the spot.
We register the new battery to your car's management system as standard — a step many garages skip that causes ongoing warning lights and charging faults.
Every AGM and EFB battery we fit comes with a full 24-month warranty — fitted at your location, guaranteed.
Most people are familiar with standard car batteries, but if your car has stop-start technology you need a different type — and fitting the wrong one will cause it to fail prematurely and can trigger electrical faults.
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) batteries are the premium option. They handle the repeated charge and discharge cycles of stop-start systems and are also used in vehicles with high electrical demands — premium brands, vehicles with heated seats, large infotainment systems, and advanced driver assists.
EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) is a step up from standard and a step below AGM. It is typically fitted to smaller, more basic stop-start vehicles. Fitting a standard battery in place of an EFB or AGM will shorten its life significantly.
Stop-start technology is not just for hybrids — it has been fitted as standard on the majority of new petrol and diesel cars sold in Europe since around 2013. If your car's engine cuts out automatically when you stop at traffic lights and restarts when you lift the clutch or press the accelerator, it has stop-start and almost certainly requires an AGM or EFB battery.
Common makes that require AGM or EFB batteries include Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Ford, Vauxhall, Renault, Peugeot, Citroën, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia and many more. If you're unsure, just call us with your registration number and we'll tell you exactly what your car needs before we come out.
On most modern vehicles, simply fitting a new AGM battery is not enough. The car's battery management system needs to be told that a new battery has been fitted — a process called battery registration or coding. Without this, the system continues to charge the new battery as if it were the old, degraded one, which can overcharge it, shorten its life, and trigger warning lights on your dashboard.
We carry the diagnostic equipment to register the new battery to your car's management system as part of every AGM and EFB fitting — at your location, included in the price. It's not an optional extra with us, it's just how the job is done properly.
AGM and EFB batteries don't always fail suddenly — there are usually warning signs. If you notice any of these, give us a call and we'll come out and test your battery for free.
If your stop-start system has switched itself off or is showing as unavailable, a weakening battery is the most common cause. The system disables itself to protect the battery when it detects reduced capacity.
If the engine is slow to turn over, particularly on cold mornings, your battery is losing its ability to deliver the current needed to start the engine. This typically gets worse over time and will eventually result in a no-start.
A battery warning light on your dashboard can indicate either a failing battery or a charging system fault. We can test both at your location and diagnose whether the battery, alternator, or both need attention.
